Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore was developed in 1964 as Indore College. It is a legal university of the state government of Madhya Pradesh by an act of legislature of Madhya Pradesh. In 1988, the college was renamed after the renowned as well as benevolent ruler of Malwa i.e. Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar.
