The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education is an Autonomous Body established on 01st January 1966 (50 years ago) under provisions of the Maharashtra Act No. 41 of 1965. Its main headquarter is in Pune. The main functions of this department are (i) formation of the norms in accordance with guidelines set by state as well as central boards, (ii) implementation of the syllabus of all grades, textbooks, exam schedule, etc. (iii) organizing exam fairly and providing unbiased justice in the event of dispute.Mainly the board conducts 10th and 12th Board exams yearly.
